Not your grandfather's pipe & drum corps

Suffice it to say, we are probably not the first thing you think of when the term punk music comes up. But check us out -- *CLICK BELOW FOR AUDIO SAMPLES* -- given the drum beats we may be considered more hip-hop than rock or punk (bearing in mind that the current use of the term "hip hop" is a bastardization of the Jazz term), but put against the contemporary style of piping and drumming we are flying in the face w/o regard to tradition and are deffinitely punk by compairision.

  • 4 Days of Heavy Busking

(reposted -- my blerb in a few tribes on Tribe.net)

So long story short -- busked for the last 4 days at Folklife -- the annual folk-arts festival in Seatttle (a bit of a hippy fest, but it's all good) -- with my bagpipe/drum-kit/conga band. Had a hell of a good time, and now we're each seriously recouperating. We were very well recevied -- between our sets people kept coming up to us to ask when we were playing again next. We were the subject of 2 major after-dark street parties with loads of folks watching numerous folks doing the hippy-dippy-doo (or w/ the Scottish touch, I think that would be the "hippy-dippy-McDubh", bearing in mind that Dubh is pronounced 'doo' -- don't ask me how or why). SunPM's was the largest with at least 40 folks dancing and 100+ watching -- all were rocking out. And to add to that 40 & 100 number, we were eventually shut down by 12 cops. We only had one problem all weekend -- we kept on selling out of our CD -- which is a bit awkward, but if you're going to have problems, that's the kind of problem to have.

OK, enough from me -- time to get back to that serious recoup'ing. Those of you who were there & saw us -- Thanks for the support, and we hope you enjoyed. More later when I can remember who I am, what I am, and all that stuff.

PS - Those of you who wanted to get a CD of the band after we ran out, please contact us and we'll get you hooked up... somehow -- but no doubt.
